Wesleyan Glee Club

Abstract The William B. Davis papers consist mostly of sheet music hand-written by William Butler Davis, Wesleyan class of 1894 and composer of the Wesleyan alma mater, "Come Raise the Song." Davis composed what he referred to as a "light opera" called "The Girl and the Graduate." The piano, vocal, and orchestral sheet music is included in this collection, as well as some other pieces Davis composed. Scope and Contents

Wesleyan and Middletown theater programs collected by Ruth Trappan (1904-1997). Programs include from Middletown's Little Theatre Guild productions of "Mrs. Moonlight," Junior plays "The Stolen Prince" and "Six who pass while the lentils boil," and "Granite." From Wesleyan programs include the revival of "The Girl and the Graduate," a glee centennial concert, from the Paint and Powder Club "Aren't We All?," Freshman Three One Act Plays, and a candlelight concert program.

Wesleyan music memorabilia collection collected by Robert (class of 1973) and Kristin (class of 2001) Savage and dates between 1884-1890. It includes the class song of 1888 and material of the Glee Club.
