Scope and Contents

The letters found in this series are generally arranged chronologically. Correspondence to farmers nationwide answering questions regarding crops and soils, letters concerning the Storrs Agricultural Experiment Station and creation of others around the nation, letters to government officials concerning the Experiment Stations, and letters to magazine and newspaper editors regarding article submissions. Correspondence found between Spencer Fullerton Baird, Orange Judd, T. S. Gold, Caleb T. Winchester, members of the Smithsonian Institution, and government officials from the US Department of Agriculture, Office of the Interior, Departmentof Labor, and War Department. This series includes littler material that is undated.
