Some groups of records are in rough alphabetical arrangment, but the entire record group is generally not arranged, though most of the series is foldered and labelled.

Subjects include working files documenting the areas of responsibility under which the Dean has a role, including: faculty searches/new faculty position proposals in the Arts and Humanities; Wesleyan faculty project grant proposals and decisions; outside grants (including Mellon and Keck Foundations); department staffing and budgets; faculty merit pay; curricula; individual department business files; facilities planning (including renovations to Downey House, plans for the Humanities Village, and Film Studies Center design and planning); and correspondence between the Deans, faculty members, and the Vice President for Academic Affairs concerning promotions, grievances, and disciplinary actions.

This record group is restricted for a period of 50 years from the date of transfer (11/4/2004) and will be open to research on November 4, 2054.
