This book was produced by Emily Blann as a final assignment for a Typography course taught by Professor David Schorr at Wesleyan University in the fall of 2002. Illustrations were refined in Adobe Photoshop 7, and pages were designed in QuarkXPress Passport 4.1. The font used throughout the book is GillSans, except for the page and title numbers, which are Rennie Mackintosh ITC light.

Scope and Contents This book was designed, illustrated and bound by Lauren Kirchner in the winter of 2002 at Wesleyan University. The text is printed in Gill Sans and Gill Sans Condensed. It is a series of excerpts chosen from C.S. Lewis's book A Grief Observed, written about loss of his wife and published in 1961 by Harper Collins. In some instances, the decision was made to substitute Lewis's "H", which he uses when referring to his wife, with a more universal "her." I would like to dedicate this collections...
