Scope and Contents
The collection consists of a list of publications by Hubert B. Goodrich, copies of articles by H.B. Goodrich, drafts, a program for the 14th Annual Meeting of the Association of American Colleges, a transcript probably written by H.B. Goodrich, a book review written by H.B. Goodrich, and a resolution adopted by the faculty of Wesleyan University upon H.B. Goodrich’s death in 1963.

Biographical / Historical
Professor Hubert B. Goodrich was well known for his work in genetics. While a student at Columbia, he did research a the Marine Biological Laboratory at Woods Hole, Massachusetts. From 1931 to 1949 he served as a trustee at Woods Hole as well as vice-preseident of the American Society of Zoologists in 1939.
In 1952, a few years after his retirement from teaching at Wesleyan, Goodrich along with Professor R.H. Knapp did a study entitled "Origins of American Scientists." The study was an investigation of the educational and social factors behind why students choose science as a major and vocation.
