Scrapbook, 1910-1914
Scope and Contents
This collection contains both written and visual material pertaining to a Wesleyan experience during the early part of the 20th century. The collection consists of a scrapbook that Miller kept during his four years at Wesleyan, anniversary medals presented to Miller by Wesleyan in 1931, two diaries covering his Freshman year (1910-1911) and second semester of his Junior year (January-June 1913), and a supplemental binder. Highlights of the scrapbook include playbills for both Wesleyan and local productions, scorecards and tickets relating to various sporting events on campus, a number of Miller's semester and examination schedules, items related to the Omega Phi chapter of Delta Upsilon, cigarettes and cigars (including Turkish), and photographs (mostly unidentified). The supplemental binder includes a short biography done by Miller's son John W. Miller, transcriptions of the diaries, genealogy of the Miller family, family photos, tributes to Miller, and photocopies of various items in the scrapbook.
