A. S. Bibbins family photographs
Scope and Contents
This collection includes a number of black and white photographs, primarily professional portraits, of the immediate and extended family of Arthur S. Bibbins. The subjects of the photos include Bibbins' neices and nephew, the Scofield family, the Sands family, and the Morrison family. The majority of the portraits were taken by professional photography studios in Connecticut and New York City. The photos are primarily printed on photographic paper, and there are also photographs printed on metal. The collection also includes some negatives, as well as a postcard of a Darien, CT pageant. The photographs are mostly undated, but include some notes of being taken in the 1920s.

Biographical / Historical
Arthur S. Bibbins (b. November 1, 1895, d. June 10, 1970) received a B.S. from Wesleyan University in 1920 and an M.A. from University of Vermont in 1931. He married Isabelle Slauson in 1921. He was a clerk at the Federal Reserve Bank in New York, a teacher at Darien High School, and the Director of Research at Darien Public Schools.

Abstract

Arrangement
The collection was received in a single small envelope. The photographs were kept in the envelope, which was refoldered and reboxed into a single slim hollinger box.
