Biographical / Historical
Titus Maccius Plautus (c. 245-184 B.C.E) wrote over 100 comedies with 20 still surviving today. Mostellaria was a Latin adaptation of a Greek play. Mostellaria, translated to "Ghostly" is written in verse with sections meant to be sung. The plot of the work deals with deceit and confusion, including the invention of a haunted house.
