Biographical / Historical

James Colder was a graduate of Wesleyan in 1849. In 1851, he boarded the ship Samuel Russell in New York sailing to Hong Kong. From 1851 to 1853, Colder [spelled Calder according to Wesleyan sources] was a Methodist missionary in Foochow, China.
