Scope and Contents
The collection consists of items created by and belonging to Roura, with some materials in Spanish. Materials include a syllabus, journals, books and publications inscribed by authors to him, manuscripts and trypescripts, translations and a memorial service program for the professor.

Biographical / Historical
Juan Roura-Parella was born in Tortella, Spain in 1897 and attended the Univeristy of Barcelona. Roura became a professor at Wesleyan in Romance languages and the humanities. In 1954 he was a Guggenheim fellow in the humanities. Roura-Parella passed away in Middletown in December of 1983.
