Biographical / Historical
Caroline Laura Rice Crawford (1856-1954) was the daughter of Rev. Dr. William Rice. She attended Wesleyan during the brief period when Wesleyan allowed coeducation from 1872 to 1909. While at the university she would meet her future husband, Morris B. Crawford.
Morris Baker Crawford graduated Wesleyan in 1874 and was a member of the Eclectic Society. He would go on to earn his Masters of Arts from Wesleyan in 1877. After graduating in 1879, he married Caroline in 1883 and they would have three children. Morris Crawford became a professor of physics at Wesleyan.
