Biographical / Historical
Stephen Olin was born in 1797 in Vermont. He graduated from Middlebury College in 1820 where he studied law. He became ordained into the Methodist Episcopal Church at the age of 25. Olin served as president of Wesleyan from 1842-1851. He married Julia Lynch who would give birth to their son Stephen Henry Olin in 1847.
